Celebration Day

Message from Dr Nelson:

Celebration Day is the school's 150th birthday fun day. We have lots planned and want you to be part of it too. Our Celebration Day is Monday 27 March and here are some of the activities that will be happening:

Children are asked to wear traditional clothes that mirror their heritage identity. My grandparents were born in Far North Queensland so for me this will mean wearing old bush clothes, but for others it may mean wearing Sudanese, Indian, Japanese or Vietnamese dress. We are celebrating our cultural diversity in 2017.

We are also asking that parents who have come from another country visit the classrooms of their children, perhaps in traditional dress, and talk about what school is like there.

At lunchtime everyone will enjoy a picnic lunch together on the main oval and we will be playing some old fashioned games.

At 2pm we will have a parade in the New Hall. There will be a slide show of photos from the past as well as pop music across the years. We are also asking a past pupil to talk to the students about what it was like when they attended the school many years ago
