150 Year Celebration Sherwood State School

In 2017 we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Sherwood State School. 
Wonderful activities and events are planned to mark this exciting milestone and we look forward to welcoming students, staff, families and community members past and present to be part of the  celebrations including:
Celebration Day – a day for current students and staff to celebrate our past and recognise the diverse school community that we have become.  Closed event - Monday 27 March 2017.
School Fete – historical memorabilia displays and opportunities to reconnect with friends in addition to fabulous stalls, rides and entertainment for the whole family.  Open to the public - Saturday 13 May 2017.
Official opening ceremony with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Lord Mayor Graham Quirk on the oval stage at 1.30am. 
150 Memorabilia display in the old hall and anniversary merchandise from the 150 Merchandise Marquee located alongside the 150 Guest Meeting Place Marquees on the oval.
150th Anniversary Commemorative Book – book launch and available for purchase at the school fete 13 May 2017.
150 Souvenir Merchandise – a range of 150th Anniversary merchandise will be available for purchase at the school fete and from the school office.
Evening Reception – date to be confirmed by volunteer organising committee (late 2017). Light refreshments and entertainment for adults – attendance fee will apply.
Celebration Mural – created by Artist in Residence, Kim Woolley the mural across the back wall of the new hall will capture a year in the life of Sherwood State School as well as recognise our long and wonderful history.
Mural Honour Board - Families will have an opportunity to contribute $100 to the cost of this project and have their names recorded as part of the mural. 
We have a strong team of volunteers involved in developing these activities and we are very grateful for their enthusiasm and generosity of time to make these celebrations possible.
