2026 Enrolments
Prep enrolments for 2026 will open on Tuesday 22nd April. Children born between 1st July 2020 and 30th June 2021 will be eligible for Prep in 2026. Enrolment papers can be collected from the school office or can be downloaded below:
Please bring all printed paperwork including the original Birth Certificate to the school office. Please note emailed forms are not accepted. Please ensure you have completed the Enrolment Checklist (PNG, 746KB) to confirm you have included all necessary documents. Enrolments can’t be accepted without all documents.
Please note that it is unlikely that we will have the capacity to take out-of-catchment enrolments for 2026 due to our current Enrolment Management Plan and projected growth. Please email the school office with your child’s full name, address, DOB, and current catchment school to be placed on the waiting list. The best advice we offer to all out-of-catchment families is to have a Plan B ready to enact, i.e. enrol at another school or one in your catchment.
Prep Transition Day
All in catchment, enrolled 2026 Prep students are invited to attend one transition day. The transition day gives children the opportunity to become familiar with our prep learning spaces. Parents will remain with their children in the Prep room. Due to limited space, we kindly ask for one parent/guardian to attend, and that no siblings attend.
- 9am Monday 15th September
- 9am Friday 19th September
- Bookings will open 8am Monday 25 August 2025. Each day will have approximately 25 children in two different classrooms. Children will only attend one transition day.

- Please tick the box for Prep and add fill in all of the details requested.
- Please print or take note of your Transition Day. Changes can be made on SOBS until 24hrs prior to the event, subject to availability.
- To be included in these transition days, enrolment forms must be in to the office by 21 July 2025.
- Parents TEAMS information session. All enrolled families will be emailed the link prior to the session.
Local Early Childhood Education Centre Visits
Term 4
As a school, we have been in contact with a number of Early Childhood Centres to organise ways in which the centres and the school can connect and assist in making the transition process for families as supportive as possible. In collaboration with the centres, we are looking to arrange opportunities for centres to visit the school with the children.
- Please ensure your consent form enclosed in the Prep enrolment documents has been signed.
Prep Meet and Greet
Term 4
All 2026 Prep enrolments will have an opportunity to meet with a School Leadership Team Member and a current Prep Teacher. At this Meet and Greet, families have a chance to share information with the school staff. This is also an opportunity for your child to have an informal conversation with a current prep teacher. This time together allows us an opportunity to get to know each individual child and their family.
Meet and Greet sessions will be held on Friday 17 October 2025 at Sherwood State School.

Prep Orientation Morning
Term 4
Friday 5 December 9am – 10am
All 2026 Prep children, as well as their parent and guardian, are invited to attend the Orientation Day. Students will be placed into class groups and will spend time with their 2026 class teacher and teacher aide in their future classroom. Parents are invited to participate in the classroom orientation activities and meet their child’s 2026 Prep teacher and teacher aide.
Pre-Prep Possums
Term 4
“Our 2026 Pre Prep Possum Program details will be released in Term 3 to all families who have returned enrolment paperwork.’
Enrolling in OSHC
If you have previously contacted the team at OSHC, your email address would have been added to the Expression of Interest list and as a result you will receive an Enrolment Package at this time.
If you are unsure whether you are on the email list, please contact OSHC at manager@sherwoodoshc.com.au to verify this.
