Sherwood State School families can expect to receive two invoices which cover a student's 'booklist' and classroom resources for the coming year – Essentials for Learning (E4L) and Student Resource Scheme (SRS). Both schemes are invoiced in November for the following year, and by opting in, families will not need to supply items for their child to start school, aside from a few common supplies which are listed below under the 'Additional Items' heading.

Payment for these schemes can be made by BPOINT or EFTPOS, once the invoice has been received.

Essentials for Learning (E4L)

For a number of years, Sherwood State School has adopted a process called E4L (Essentials for Learning) to reduce stress around sourcing booklist items for parents in 2023. All year level cohorts implement the 'prep model' of communal consumables, meaning if you opt-in to E4L for the year, your child will receive their exercise books and text books for individual use, but consumables (such as pencils, glue, coloured pens and pencils) will be shared within the room. If you opt in, your student booklist requirements will be in their classroom on day one of school ready for use. If you opt out and choose to purchase your own booklist items for your student, they will need to have the complete list in their school bag on the first day of school ready for use.

Student Resource Scheme (SRS)

To provide parents with a cost-effective alternative to purchasing textbooks and/or resources elsewhere, Sherwood State School operates a SRS for 2023. The scheme ensures that students have the resources required for them to engage with the curriculum for their education, and saves parents time and money in sourcing the prescribed materials elsewhere. Savings are gained through the school's bulk purchasing practices and hiring arrangements. The scheme is not used to raise funds for other purposes, and revenue collected through the scheme is applied only to the resources and operation of the scheme.

The objective of the scheme is to provide a convenient and cost-effective way for students to access the educational resources necessary to enhance their learning experience at school. The Department encourages parents to participate in the scheme. Participation in the SRS is optional, and no obligation is placed on a parent to participate. Participation is for the duration of your child's enrolment at the school. Please note that the SRS is separate to the booklist for each year level. The booklist is available for purchase via the Essentials for Learning (E4L) option.
