Dear Parents and Guardians of Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students
This year, Sherwood State School will be celebrating Under 8s Day on Thursday 21st July from 9am – 11am. The theme this year is ‘Play in a Changing World’ and we have a range of special activities (including some special visitors!) to celebrate this wonderful day.
You are invited to attend this event. We ask each visitor to sign in via the QR code that will be available in the Outdoor Learning Area. Please enter through Hall Street gate and meet our classes under the Prep MH building. We kindly ask that you do not wait at classrooms, as our students will be preparing to start promptly at 9am. We understand you may not be able to attend this morning. Rest assured that students will bring home a special passport that will show you all of the wonderful activities they engaged with that morning.
Please note: one of the activities is marshmallow decorating. The ingredients used in this activity are pink and white marshmallows, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate icing, and assorted sprinkles. If your child has an allergy to any of these items, please notify your classroom teacher and your child will not partake in this activity. One other activity is Sherwood SS temporary tattoos. These safe, non-toxic tattoos comply with Australian & New Zealand Standards Independent Testing, conducted by Australian Government National Measurement Institute. They are applied using water and last up to 5 days. Tattoos will be placed on students upper arms only, under the sleeve of their uniform. If you would prefer that your child does not have a temporary tattoo applied, please make contact with your class teacher.
